"Back in 2024, Del Rey told the BBC she wrote a theme song for the last Bond film, the Sam Mendes-directed Spectre (2015), but it was turned down. 'How has that not happened yet?' she said, when asked on the possibility of singing a Bond theme. 'One day maybe, probably not. But I'm going to continue to do my little Nancy Sinatra thing every now and then and just pretend that it's the title track.'
"As spotted by ConversationDue8475 on a Reddit, Lana Del Rey has registered a song with ASCAP that shares its name with IO Interactive's new James Bond game: First Light. That's not exactly a smoking gun, given that Del Rey has an album coming out and this could be an unrelated song that just happens to have the same name. But come on, Lana Del Rey would be a perfect fit for a Bond theme of the smoky Nancy Sinatra variety. I reckon she could manage a brassier Shirley Bassey-type song too.
